River Yser breaks banks

In scenes that remind us of the deliberate flooding of the battlefield between Nieuwpoort and Diksmuide in 1914, the River Yser has risen due to the much higher than usual amount of rain falling in the Westhoek.
About the Author
Chris Baker is the owner and editor of the Old Barbed Wire. A former Chairman of the Western Front Association, he is a full-time military researcher, historian and tour guide.
